Job Description

 

Scott Process Systems, Inc. is a rapidly growing global fabricator and erector of process, power and nuclear piping systems, located in Hartville, Ohio

We are currently seeking a Draftsman. Candidate will Report directly to the Manager of Engineering. 

Responsibilities:

§ Review customer drawings for inaccuracies and notify the lead designer

§ Prepare a list of inaccuracies and send a scanned file of the isometrics and or sketches in question to the designer on the project.

§ Create detailed bills of materials and/or loose material lists (if required) in accordance with customer specifications.

§ Create detail shop drawings from customer supplied general arrangement and/or isometric drawings in accordance with customer provided specifications, dimensions/elevations, weights etc and ASME Code standards.

§ Create drawing details i.e. weld procedures, non destructive testing, heat treating requirements, material weights, dimensions etc. from customer supplied general arrangement and/or isometric drawings in accordance with customer provided specifications dimensions/elevations, weights etc and ASME Code standards.

§ Create a master material cut sheet for each project.  

§ Create 3D models of any detail drawing that may be difficult to interpret.

§ Verify the detail drawings, master cut sheet, bills of material and / or loose material list (if required) are accurate by using reference documents, mathematical equations, and prior experience before submitting finalized drawings to the lead designer.

§ Review all back checks by the lead designer and make any corrections noted that are agreed upon.

Candidates should meet the following requirements:

§ Knowledge of Microsoft software (Word and Excel) is required.

§ Two to Four years of AutoCAD experience is required.

§ Typing and Data Entry proficiency is required.

§ Mechanical and visual aptitude is required.

§ Strong math and communication skills are required.

§ Good interpersonal skills and teamwork are required.

§ Proficiency in AutoCad and 3D modeling required.

§ Knowledge of piping systems and ASME Code requirements preferred. 

§ A two year Associates degree in Engineering or Computer drafting is preferred.

§ One to three years of experience in a related industry is preferred.
